One last time: visigplyphs for b2evolution v220 (and backwards-compatible to at least v1103).
For those not hip to what a visiglyph is: mashup a few parameters you (as the admin) get to select that then create a tiny little image unique to each person who leaves a comment. The idea is that if you have a lot of comments in your community then you will be able to see at a glance who is commenting without reading the names of commenters.
In this version we thank Foppe for showing me how to do it without hacking any files, and, bigbaer for showing me how to make images scale with the visitor's text size.
Yeah that's a new thing in this version: your visiglyph will scale up or down if the visitor's browser text size is set to smaller or larger. Cool eh?
Download it, unzip it, upload it, install it via your Global Settings tab, then go to your Blog settings tab to place it on your blog. ... and read the readme!
Remember: You will have to CHMOD your plugins/visiglyph_plugin/visiglyphs folder to 777 so the plugin can save the visiglyphs it creates.
This is a sample of a visiglyph so that if you want to you can see it flex with your browser's text size setting. Here's hoping this fake comment is long enough to wrap around the visiglyph...
Hi Nicole. The "smilies in comments" are part of b2evolution now. Go to your plugins page and click the name of the smilies plugin, then check the box for "use in comments" or something like that.
Found the buttons and must have been asleep with the smilies, lol - thanks
I always call these toys - no offense
Guillaume it's because you don't actually have a blog. You have a blogspot
It doesn't work on my blog either!
Hi mitja. Did you chmod the plugins/visiglyph_plugin/visiglyphs folder to 777? You need to do that so the plugin can write the files it makes into the folder.
I did, pictures are in folder, SRC for image is ok. but pictures are't shown.
I think something is wrong with your folder permissions beginning with /plugins/. Try going directly to your "feeds" icon in your browser and it will show.
I overlooked this pluggin when I first visited but I am so glad I gave it a try now.
If you pick a different size (small medium whatever) the existing comments will stay as they are. If you tweak the "special settings" existing comments will grow or shrink with the new values.
and once again .. pretty neat .
(I still wish for Gravatar to work, but maybe one day someone makes a plugin for that
Now, you'll be my hero if you let me know how you got the smilys in here and the codes for dif. formats
(And the nifty remember me thingy)
