Kinda like quick tags for posts only for comments. Visit the permalink page here to get the download and see it in action.
To allow commenters to use the "link" button you will have to edit a file, depending on your version.
In v230RC1, /conf/ folder, _formatting.php file name, you will find on line 578 this:
// 'a' => C_E_a_content, // Allowing this will call for a whole lot of comment spam!!!
In v240RC2, /inc/xhtml_validator/ folder, _xhtml_dtd.inc.php file name, you will find on line 494 this:
// 'a' => $C_E_a_content, // Allowing this will call for a whole lot of comment spam!!!
Simply remove the // from the very start of the line and your commenters can leave links. If you're worried about spam use the TuringTest plugin available around here somewhere ![]()
Download it, unzip it, upload it, install it via your Global Settings tab, then go to your Blog settings tab to place it on your blog. ... and read the readme!
Posting that twice is a great way to get 208.53.138.54 banned
This may not be related, but how did you get the "button bar" on top of your comment box? That's pretty cool.
Is this what this plugin does?
Just a note on applying this plugin to the 2.4.0 RC2 release.
Thanks John! I'm pretty sure I have that detail in the readme file, but (by definition) no one reads readmes
Great tool! Thanks !
I went to your web and viewed the source. Looks like you have v2.3.0-RC1, so that line should be in your conf_formatting.php file.
With the line you mention in your instruction changed it didn't work.
The read me file says:
Thanks E.I.! I just updated the readme file and uploaded it, so the next person won't get tripped up over the same thing.
I didn't see the $ sign in the readme.
Hi Nicole. It absolutely will work but don't put too much effort into it because it's easy. You have v230, so edit conf/_formatting.php and remove the // from the beginning of line 578. That's it! Don't worry about the $ character because it shows up in v240 when the stuff moves to a file your version doesn't have
If my backup ever finishes I will upgrade to 2.4 either today or tomorrow, then we can start all over again
Funny, this things stays a bitch for me.
Thanks for your support!
Congratulations! Ya know what: for a simple little plugin I really like this one.
So do I (and my commenters
