Dudes I totally rock!
Here you will find a shiny new plugin that allows bloggers to apply a creative commons license to their blog posts.
First let's talk about the bad news: SOME licenses installed with the original version(s) of this plugin will not upgrade properly. Basically if you selected a license in a post or blog with a language other than "English" the new plugin won't provide a license in the language your post or blog was written in.
Now let's talk about "national ports". The CC people figured out that having their licenses actually be legally valid in different countries matters, so what they did was work with countries to make it so. Therefore your license will be either specific to your country, or, "unported". If your country isn't listed in the national port drop-down then you pick 'Not Listed' to get the generic unported version of the license.
Hey did you know "public domain" isn't a license? It's an option in this plugin, but it is NOT a license because licenses, by design, are stating ownership. Public domain means no person or entity claims ownership. In this case when you apply PD to your work you are stating that you personally relinquish all control over content. Cool eh?
Download it, unzip it, upload it, install it via your Global Settings tab, then go to your Write tab to see this plugin do its thing. ... and read the readme!
UPDATE: The major bug Sergio found is now fixed.

Hi!
Hi Sérgio! What settings did you select that led to a license for a page that doesn't exist? I tested quite a few different jurisdictions and licenses and styles and each time was successful in getting the license to properly display and link, but obviously no one can test everything yah? So if I know your circumstances I can see about fixing it.
Hi Edb
I'll be damned - it's the worst bug in the world!!! ALL my posts with the CC License made with the new plugin fail. I'll take down the link until I get a fix in place, and will email you when a working version is available.
Sérgio the bug is fixed so you can download it again and install it again. I think you will probably want to edit any posts with a license installed, but just edit and save: you won't have to do the actual license again. Will follow-up via email as well.
Hi Edb!
I found a typo translating this plugin.
Okay thanks. Just fixed it in the plugin, the translation pot, and both translations. Hey when you're done translating it to Russian let me know and I'll add it to the .zip file. Thanks!
Okay I see where you are one step ahead of me and sent me the locale zip in the forums.
Hi EdB!
I discovered a bug with the plugin, inserting the following license does not work (all other ones do though).
hmmm... I just tested the same license on a test blog I have and it rendered properly. Dunno what to do about this.
I found the bug. In the version I have (downloaded from the link above), the string is not being generated correctly for that license.
Good catch Icon. I have no idea why it rendered for me, but that bug just died with v2.0.4 (available now at an internet near you). Thanks!
I get the following error:
Hi,
Hi Bodo. Try changing the "apply rendering" on the plugin's settings page to 'lazy' - it might help with the crashing issue.
