So you're running b2evolution v241 and you've got a lot of blogs and you just don't want to type in all the blog numbers that you want to aggregate? You wish you could just aggregate ALL the blogs into one blog and be done with it? You can't understand why it can't understand a simple little thing like "All" means "All the blogs that are available in the public blog list"?
Sweeeet. Gotcha covered ![]()
Keep in mind this is a functional "proof of concept" hack. It is NOT the be-all end-all of the type of functionality we should have in the "Blogs to aggregate" setting on your Blog settings -> pick a blog -> Advanced subtab. The only thing accomplished here is that you can now use the singular word "All" exactly like that in the "Blogs to aggregate" field. Not "all" and not "ALL" and not "All except 3". Get it?
Here's the lowdown on what these 7 files will do to your blog: one changes the note on the "Blogs to aggregate" field telling you you can use "All". Another allows that past the regular expression test that will normally fail for anything other than numbers and commas. The other five use what I lovingly call my monstrous hack. It's not a bad hack I guess, but I'm sure it could be a lot smarter cleaner neater better so there you go. Really I called it "monstrous" because I stuck with the horrible ugly nasty skeevy 'rules' that seem to be in place inside b2evolution code. Basically: use more lines than you need and throw tabs all over the fucking place. Yuck. I did it that way because it's a bit like oral sex: you kinda gotta embrace the end result and figure the path there is simply the price paid. Except that going down on a chick makes my dick hard and making ugly code doesn't. Did I digress? Okay where was I then? Oh yeah: the download.
Download it, unzip it, and upload it to your installation following the path structure in the unzipped package. THIS WILL OVER-WRITE SEVEN OF YOUR FILES!!!
Hey by the way this little zip package also contains the original files just in case you find a fatal flaw of some kind and want to go back to the original shitty "numbers and commas" only method. If that happens do be kind enough to comment here with the error you get and what page you were on when you got it else I'll never be able to fix it.
Ya know what sucks next? Fucking tags. I need a little hackage that will show me what tags I've already used so I can use the same ones again otherwise I'll end up with a zillion tags for the same shit.
Great, it works well. Thanks for this hack.
Smilies don't work?
