Killer Bees (a plugin)
I guess I could have called this "YAAP" because truly this is yet another avatar plugin but I went with killer bees for 2 reasons. First, they pissed me off recently. Second, I don't have any plugins that begin with "k" yet. I mean, I didn't until very recently ![]()
What this will do for you is give each of your bloggers the opportunity to have an avatar and/or a signature block. By the way it is a lame knock-off of astonishme's AM Deluxe Profiles plugin.

Basically this is pretty useless if you are a single blogger like me. For multi-author blogs though it's kinda neat. Each blogger can upload to their user directory a .gif or .png or .jpg that they name "avatar.???" on the server. Then they go to their profile page and see another tab called "profile++", which lets them choose their avatar from among the three they might have uploaded. That is where they will also get to type in a little signature line if they want.
The admin has to set stuff up of course. Like, the admin has to enable user directories on the "Global settings -> Files" subtab. On this plugin's setting page the admin will also have to decide top or bottom and left or right for where the avatar goes, which renderers to apply to the signature block, and any additional styling the admin wants applied to the signature block. Oh if the avatar goes on the bottom it is stuck inside the signature block. I think bottom left looks the best but what do I know?
Anyway have fun with it. And don't hesitate to report bugs if/when you find them ![]()
Download it, unzip it, upload it, install it via your Global Settings tab, then tell your bloggers to check out their new profile tab. ... and read the readme!

Hi...question...could we modify this plugin to use it to upload logos? I've been asked to create a site where individuals can register their company for a fan/referral page. I'm using the userblog_plugin for the creation and set-up although I need to tweak a few things. But I do want them to be able to upload their company logo...the skin then can pull it for the page. Let me know what you think. Sue

Hi - I need some help. I can't get the users to be able to upload an avatar. Under Global Settings -> Files everything is clicked. Then on the plugin's setting page both things are checked under Primary Settings. The avatar location is working since my avatar is in the correct position.Where is the new profile tab supposed to be? When they click on their name at the top of the window an error comes up that says Access denied. Sorry, you have no permission to access this section.
What have I missed or am doing wrong? Thanks for any and all help you can give.
That's not so hard to fix. On your "Users" tab click on the name of the group they're in and tell it "visible link" for "Access to Admin area". Scroll down and give that group the third or maybe fourth radio button option under "Files". That way they can get in to the admin area and upload files.Somewhere you also need to tell it to enable user directories.
Anyway the extra profile tab will show up when they click on "My Profile". For you it will show up when you click on "Users" then your login name.
OK, I guess I'm not done with the problems yet.My users can upload their avatar but after leaving a comment it doesn't show up by their comment. Infact mine doesn't show up if I leave a comment. Aren't they supposed to (like above comments) or does it only do it if the person starts a post?
Lemme see... avatars enabled in the plugin, upload an image, make sure it is named avatar, select the image as the avatar on the profiles++ tab.If that doesn't work then use the contact link at the bottom to send me your domain and login credentials so I can poke around and see what's the story.
Problems solved Fuck 'em.
When they get rid of the spyware and footer spam and splog links and context spam AND make core avatars a plugin I'll consider telling them how to fix it.
