An hour earlier I walked up to the gas station for some cold medicine and a cup of coffee in my normal shoes. Now I had to put on 20th century foot mittens to go take this shot.
And here I am in Flagstaff. I got this room for another 3 hours. If they don't close I-17 before then I'll check out and make my way to the bus terminal so I can get on the road to Phoenix. Then another cab to the terminal where I hope my car will start, then finally home again. Where I start looking for an employer that doesn't suck so much. I made a lot of money with employers who sucked, so why would I make chump change with the same? Not that this one has fired me. I doubt they fire anyone who doesn't actually cost them money through an accident. Or fail a random drug test of course. Anyway I've had more than my fill of their treatment of workers that I see no sense in continuing with them. There are plenty of folks that will hire a newly licensed commercial driver, and I've no doubt that some (most?) of them are not going to be as blind to the needs of their drivers as these folk are.
Tween now and then I've got foot mittens on, a raging head cold that just won't quit, and I'm about 3 hours away from my car and about an hour after that from home. It sure as hell ain't snowing on either of those places
