My glider rack was custom made by a friend of mine that has done metal work for about 20 years. His name is Johnny Severin and his business is Johnny's True Torch located in Santa Ana, Ca 714-662-0112. He can make anything!
The whole rack is made of aluminum and uses the existing towing holes in the bumpers on the BMW which was my idea and worked out great!
The rack attaches to the BMW roof rack and extremely secure! Also easy to attach and remove. We have been thinking about ideas for other vehicles so if anyone is interested in a specialty rack this guy can do it!
I flew Dockweiler Beach near LAX for my initial training and have been flying at Sylmar, CA.
