Roughly 30 years ago I decided on a whim that my New Year's Resolution was to not make New Year's Resolutions any more. Since that was my formative year I found value in it and managed to stick by it. Sometimes I thought about breaking that solemn pact I made with myself, but - dammit - I stuck by what I agreed to. Now, 30 years later, I'm considering making a new one. Considering. Haven't done it yet. Just thinking about it.
So here's what I'm thinking about resolving: to stop procrastinating.
How does one word a NYR anyway? Do I need to be fancy schmancy about it, like "I hereby do solemnly resolve to no longer procrastinate". Or perhaps these things are reasonably informal and can be done with a simple "I'm not going to procrastinate anymore" type of thing. Either way, I should give myself an out. I should resolve to procrastinate less, assuming I choose to resolve anything at all.
